Africa Unite

Africa Unite

That I may be allowed to discover and want man, wherever he may be.

Three characters symbolise developing Africa.

In the centre, the woman on whom most of Africa’s hope is placed adorns the pictogram

of the crocodile, which signifies endurance and adaptability.

On either side, two silhouettes represent the diversity of the people and resources of the African continent.

The list of names reminds us that for centuries all over the continent exceptional figures have spoken out: great warriors, members of the resistance, engaged artists and writers, political visionaries, intellectual militants. Many others could figure on this list.

There are many who paid for their involvement with their lives or their freedom.
